I got this recipe from the mother of a little girl in my Brownie troop many years ago. They are the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever tried. I have kept her name on them to give credit where credit is due.

Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 - eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 package chocolate chips - 12 ounces

Step 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2Beat butter until light and fluffy. Add sugars slowly, beating after each addition. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla.

Step 3Combine flour and soda in a bowl and stir with a whisk to mix. Add to butter mixture and mix well. Add nuts and chocolate chips.

Step 4Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake about 10 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet. Then cool completely on rack or on paper towels.
