My mom made up this sugar cookie recipe a long time ago.I remember making these at Christmas and my sister and I couldn't wait to decorate them.Now my girls make their grandma's recipe with their kids and bring them to our family's Christmas partyThe first thing they tell her is "Hey Grandma we made your cookies." Seeing her smile is the best gift of all.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 - eggs
5 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups butter or lard

How To Make mom's yummy cookies

Step 1

Cream the butter,sugar and vanilla till fluffy.Add eggs 1 at time till blended.In a seperate bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt.

Step 2

Mixing by hand add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture.Do not over mix
Step 3

Flour pastry cloth with a mixture of flour and powdered sugar.Roll out and cut into desired shapes.Bake at 350 for 10 to 15 minutes.When cool frost as desired.
