Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 4 tablespoons dark molasses
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
How To Make molasses cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Step 2In a large mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients.

Step 3Add melted butter, molasses and egg.

Step 4Mix by hand until incorporated.

Step 5Refrigerate cookie dough for at least 30 minutes.

Step 6Remove dough from refrigerator and roll into walnut sized balls.

Step 7Roll dough balls in sugar and place on a greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.

Step 8Bake for 10 - 12 minutes. Remove from oven and place on wire rack to cool.

Step 9Yields about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
