mimi's sand tarts
These little jewels were a staple for any holiday that came around, they did not last long at our house!

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cup confectioners sugar, sifted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all purpose flour, sifted
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- powdered sugar for dusting
How To Make mimi's sand tarts

Step 1Beat butter till light and fluffy. Blend in the sugar and vanilla.

Step 2Add the flour and mix just until blended. Stir in the chopped nuts. (It will appear crumbly but will come together when rolled into balls)

Step 3Roll into a ball and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least an hour.

Step 4Remove and shape into 1/2 inch small balls, placing them on ungreased parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake 20-25 minutes in preheated oven at 325 until lightly browned. Cool slightly.

Step 5Sift powdered sugar into a bowl. While still warm, gently toss the cookies until coated. Let them set, then toss again in the powdered sugar. This can also be done in large plastic Ziploc bag. Keep tossing until they are totally powdered over. Enjoy...
