My Ma would make these when we were kids~there are 7 of us~this recipe makes a lot of cookies. She was hoping they would last a day or two and they did.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

eggs
1/2 c
margarine
1/2 c
shortening
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
baking soda
1 1/2 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c
sugar
1 tsp
cinnamon
1/2 tsp
ground cloves
1 tsp
vanilla extract

CREAM THESE ABOVE TOGETHER

3 c
all purpose flour
1 c
milk
2 c
oatmeal, uncooked

TAKE RAISINS AND BRING THEM TO A FULL BOIL IN PAN OF WATER.

1 1/2 c
raisins

How to Make Ma's Old-fashion Oatmeal and Raisin Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cream the first ingredients. Add flour in intervals with milk, mix well stir in uncooked oatmeal.
  • 2Scoop or spoon onto parchment paper cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 13-15 minutes.
  • 3I always put a piece of bread wrapped in a napkin in the bottom of my cookie jar~the bread will keep your cookies,bars etc. soft.
