Marge's Heath Bars

deb baldwin

I got this recipe from my step-mom Marge.
She worked very hard at a small grocery store as a checker to help support all the extra kids she inherited.
As she worked long hours, she never had a lot of time to bake.
This is one of her treats.
These really taste like the candy bar.

1 c
brown sugar
sticks of butter (1 cup)
1/2 box
keebler's: buttery club crackers (original)
1 c
chocolate chips
1 c
butterscotch chips

1Oven: 350 degrees
Butter a cookie sheet.
2Lay Keebler's Club original butter crackers over the bottom of a cookie sheet. Cover the bottom completely.
3Combine in a pan, the butter and brown sugar.
Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes.
4Spread this mixture over the crackers in the cookie sheet.
5Place sheet in a preheated oven for 5 minutes.
Remove from oven.
6Mix together the chocolate and butterscotch chips and sprinkle over top of butter crackers. (I always add a few more chips)
7Return to oven for a few minutes for the chips to get glossy.
The butterscotch chips take a little longer to melt than the chocolate chips.
8Remove cookie sheet from oven and spread the melted chips to cover the top.
Cut into bars while warm.
9Remove from cookie sheet when cold.
