My favorite memory of my birthday when I was a child is that my Grandma Kaphingst would mail me a box of her M&M cookies. I use the holiday M&M's for the matching holidays. Also very good with dark chocolate M&M's.

Ingredients

1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 - eggs, beaten
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 package m&m candies

How To Make m&m cookies

Step 1

Blend shortening and sugar. Beat in vanilla and eggs. Add the flour blended with salt and soda. Mix well. Add 1 cup M&M candies.

Step 2

Drop heaping teaspoon onto ungreased cookies sheet; decorate top of cookies with some of the candy.
Step 3

Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Let cool 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet to wire rack.
