I found the original recipe in a cookie book years and years ago, I've made some changed to fit my families taste, these are a light fuffy cookie and really, really good.

1/2 c
1 c
1 tsp
lemon extract
2 c
all purpose flour
3/4 tsp
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/4 c
lemon juice

How to Make Lemon Drops


  • 1Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and lemon extract with hand mixer until light and fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients; add alternatly with lemon juice to shortening mixture.
  • 2Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar or decorative cystals. Bake at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes.
