Ingredients
- ALMOND CRUST
- 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup ground almonds
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- LEMON FILLING
- 4 - eggs
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- - icing sugar, optional
How To Make lemon almond strips

Step 1CRUST: Combine sugar, flour and ground almonds in a mixing bowl. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Press into a 9 X 13 inch cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes until light golden. Cool 10 minutes.

Step 2FILLING: Beat eggs, sugar and lemon juice together well.

Step 3Combine flour and baking powder; stir into eggs thoroughly. Pour over baked crust.

Step 4Bake at 350 degrees F. for 18 - 23 minutes, or just until set and light golden. Cool, then cut into bars. Sprinkle with icing sugar before serving, if desired.
