I adore butter cookies! I have tried several good recipes over the years and seem to keep losing them! I knew I wanted to use confectioners sugar, butter, and pecans but could not find a recipe... so here is the one I just made up!

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups pecans, finely chopped
How To Make russian tea cakes

Step 1Cream butter and confectioners' sugar together

Step 2Mix in almond extract

Step 3Add remaining ingredients and mix well

Step 4Chill dough until firm enough to handle

Step 5Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Step 6Using your fingers, shape dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet

Step 7Bake for 15 - 18 minutes or until light brown on the bottom

Step 8While cookies are still warm, roll in powdered sugar
