It was the 60's and every year my mom made these for Christmas. They are good and yes a whole box of brown sugar! I would say that they taste like a blondie. I found the recipe recently just in time for the holidays. It's been over 32 years since I tasted one. I hope you enjoy them.

Ingredients

  • 4 - eggs
  • 1 box 1 lb. or 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 cups powered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons cream

How To Make jewish cookies

  • Step 1
Beat eggs, add sugar and cream well (personally, I did not use the whole box of brown sugar. I loosely filled 2 cups.)
  • Step 2
Add flour, salt, cinnamon to wet mixture and mix well.
  • Step 3
Add vanilla and pecans and mix. Pour into an 8" cookie sheet.
  • Step 4
Bake on 350 for 20-25 min. Until golden brown.
  • Step 5
While still hot cut into squares. Mix 2 cups of powered sugar with cream and pour over bars. Let dry and take out of pan.
