Jello Cookies

My mother had gotten this recipe from a holiday recipe guide in a woman's magazine when I was just a child. We have kept them as a holiday favorite since then.

1 1/2 c
1 c
1 box
3 oz. jello any flavor
1 tsp
vanilla extact
3 1/2 c
all purpose flour (sifted)
1 tsp
baking powder


1Cream together butter, sugar, Jello, egg and vanilla extract.
2Add baking powder and flour in small quantities. Mix well. Dough will be stiff but workable.
3You can either force the dough through a cookie press or roll into a small ball. If making a ball, flatten the cookie with your thumb or a fork. Decorate with any type of sprinkles or colored sugar.

Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and move cookies to a wire rack to cool. If you use a cookie press you will yield about 5 dozen cookies. If using the rolled ball you will yield about 3 1/2 dozen.
