These cookies are very light and delicate, however hold up well when shipped. They won't last long, and may be the first cookie to disappear from your cookie tray!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 2 1/2 cups flour, sifted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 4 teaspoons milk
  • 4 teaspoons light corn syrup
  • - sprinkles

How To Make icing dipped orange butter cookies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and orange zest and juice. Gradually beat in flour and salt until well mixed. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheet; flatten with fork.
  • Step 2
    Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets 1 minute. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
  • Step 3
    Place the remaining 2 cups of sifted powdered sugar, milk and corn syrup in a bowl and stir until mixed thoroughly.
  • Step 4
    Frost half of cookie, and add sprinkles.
