honey nut cookies
This is from an old cookbook published in 1954 by the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital Auxiliary. It has my mom’s hand writing in it!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, one stick.
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup finely chopped nuts, walnuts one other
How To Make honey nut cookies

Step 1Cream butter and sugar.

Step 2Sift flour and use two cups of that flour and add baking powder and salt.

Step 3Mix egg and honey.

Step 4Add honey mixture and dry ingredients.

Step 5Combine creamed mixture with the other ingredients.

Step 6Chill dough until it is slightly firm and then place it on wax paper and form a roll, chill fora while.

Step 7Preheat oven to 375.

Step 8Thinly slice dough, and place on lightly greased cookie sheets.

Step 9It makes about two dozen cookies, or more depending on thickness of slices. Bake 10- 15 minutes.
