honey nut cookies
This is from an old cookbook published in 1954 by the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital Auxiliary. It has my mom’s hand writing in it!

Ingredients For honey nut cookies

1/2 cbutter, one stick.

1/2 csugar

1egg, beaten
-
1/2 choney
-
2 csifted flour
-
2 tspbaking powder
-
1/2 tspsalt

1 cfinely chopped nuts, walnuts one other
How To Make honey nut cookies

1Cream butter and sugar.

2Sift flour and use two cups of that flour and add baking powder and salt.

3Mix egg and honey.

4Add honey mixture and dry ingredients.

5Combine creamed mixture with the other ingredients.

6Chill dough until it is slightly firm and then place it on wax paper and form a roll, chill fora while.

7Preheat oven to 375.

8Thinly slice dough, and place on lightly greased cookie sheets.

9It makes about two dozen cookies, or more depending on thickness of slices. Bake 10- 15 minutes.
