Imagine these in your next banana pudding - if you can keep from gobbling them up! The smell of these cookies baking is as heavenly as the taste. Try making larger cookies and using them as a base for ice cream sandwiches too.

How to Make Home Baked Vanilla Waffers

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Cream butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until light in color and fluffy about 5 minutes. Add egg and vanilla continue to beat until incorporated.
  3. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture a little at a time and mix on low speed until well incorporated.
  4. Using a 1 teaspoon measuring spoon drop onto ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. The spacing is important because the cookies will spread and flatten. Bake 8 - 10 minutes until edges are light golden brown.
  5. When cookies are done, remove from oven and using a spatula transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool.
