Imagine these in your next banana pudding - if you can keep from gobbling them up! The smell of these cookies baking is as heavenly as the taste. Try making larger cookies and using them as a base for ice cream sandwiches too.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup vanilla sugar - recipe on jap
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder

How To Make home baked vanilla waffers

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  • Step 2
    Cream butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until light in color and fluffy about 5 minutes. Add egg and vanilla continue to beat until incorporated.
  • Step 3
    Add dry ingredients to butter mixture a little at a time and mix on low speed until well incorporated.
  • Step 4
    Using a 1 teaspoon measuring spoon drop onto ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. The spacing is important because the cookies will spread and flatten. Bake 8 - 10 minutes until edges are light golden brown.
  • Step 5
    When cookies are done, remove from oven and using a spatula transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool.
