I made these cookies but my family didn't care for them that much. I thought they were good but I prefer a different type of cookie.

Approx 40 cookies


  • 2 small
    very ripe bananas
  • 2 c
    unsweetened applesauce
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter, softened
  • 2
    eggs (or egg beaters)
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1 c
    whole wheat flour
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 c
    raisins or currants
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts (optional)

How to Make High Fiber Nutritious Oatmeal Cookies-SD


  1. Preheat oven to 350. Lightly spray cookie sheets. Combine bananas, applesauce, butter, eggs and vanilla. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together oatmeal (old fashioned oats), flours, baking soda, salt, spices, raisins or currants and nuts (if using). Now add combined banana mixture to dry mixture and mix until just blended.
  3. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until light golden brown.
