helen's chocolate chip oatmeal cookies
This recipe was given to me by the woman who sold me every new car I bought in the last 30 years! She is no longer with us, but I will always be reminded of her when making these cookies.

Ingredients
- COOKIE BATTER
- 1 - 18.25* packages white, yellow or butter recipe cake mix
- 1 - 3.4 oz boxes instant butterscotch pudding mix
- 2/3 cup quick oatmeal
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- * TO UPSIZE A 15.25 OZ. CAKE MIX, ADD
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 2/3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/3 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/16 teaspoon baking soda
How To Make helen's chocolate chip oatmeal cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350°.

Step 2In a large bowl, thoroughly mix all ingredients except the chocolate chips. Stir the chocolate chips into the well-mixed batter.

Step 3Drop by heaping teaspoons onto a cookie sheet sprayed with PAM.

Step 4Bake for 9 to 11 minutes. Allow to cool on cookie sheet for appx. 5 minutes. Remove to foil covered with paper towel to cool completely.

Step 5Note - You can use any combinations of cake mix and pudding flavors and even leave out the oatmeal and add something else as a mix-in. It's a good basic recipe.
