grandma hetland's molasses cookies
These were some of my favorite cookies when I was a little girl. This recipe actually comes from my Grandma Hetland's mom. She came from the Egeland family. Very Norwegian.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup dark molasses
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 - egg
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups flour
How To Make grandma hetland's molasses cookies

Step 1Blend molasses, sugar and shortening. Add egg and spices. mix until combined then add flour.

Step 2My grandmother did not give a measurement for flour. So I estimated. Her exact words, "put in enough flour to handle and make into balls. Keep the dough soft."

Step 3Make into balls, press with a glass and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350* for 10 minutes.
