gooey chocolate cream cheese bars

This is a variation of a Paula Dean recipe. I brought this to work the other day and my coworkers really liked it!

Ingredients

  • 2 - yellow cake mix
  • 1 - cup melted butter
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 - package cream cheese
  • 3 or 4 - handfuls chocolate chips
  • 2 - teaspoons vanilla
  • 16 - ounces powdered sugar

How To Make gooey chocolate cream cheese bars

  • Step 1
    Melt 1 cup of butter
  • Step 2
    Mix half of the butter and 2 eggs with 1 of the cake mixes. Make this into a crust in an 8 1/2 by 11 inch pan.
  • Step 3
    In a mixer combine the cream cheese, 1 egg, the powdered sugar and the vanilla. Pour mixture onto the crust.
  • Step 4
    sorinkle the chocolate chips on the cream cheese mixture.
  • Step 5
    Combine the other cake mix and the remaining melted butter. Sprinkle on top of the chocolate chips.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Middle will not be set.
  • Step 7
    Cool in refrigerator for about 2 hours. Cut into squares and enjoy!
