Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup canola oil
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- 2/3 cup turbinado sugar
How To Make ginger snaps

Step 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cover baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.

Step 2In a medium bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, black pepper, ground cloves, ground cinnamon and ground ginger.

Step 3In a large bowl mix brown sugar, oil, molasses and egg. Add the flour mixture to the wet mixture in three parts stirring just till combined between each part.

Step 4Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Roll through the sugar. Place on prepared baking sheets; leaving 2 1/2 inches between each cookie. Bake for 10 -11 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes before moving to cooling racks.
