  • 2 1/4 c
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 3/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 large
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/4 c
    sugar in the raw

How to Make Ginger Chewies


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Sift flour, baking soda, cinnamon and ginger into a bowl.
  3. Cream the butter and brown sugar with electric mixer.
  4. Add egg and molasses and mix until blended and an even light brown color.
  5. On low speed mix in flour mixture until incorporated.
  6. Place sugar in the raw on a plate.
  7. Scoop dough with cookie scoop and roll into ball.
  8. Roll cookie ball in the sugar and place on the cookie sheet.
  9. Bake 12 minutes until the tops are cracked.
  10. Cool on cookie sheet 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  11. Enjoy!
