Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup sugar in the raw
How To Make ginger chewies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2Sift flour, baking soda, cinnamon and ginger into a bowl.

Step 3Cream the butter and brown sugar with electric mixer.

Step 4Add egg and molasses and mix until blended and an even light brown color.

Step 5On low speed mix in flour mixture until incorporated.

Step 6Place sugar in the raw on a plate.

Step 7Scoop dough with cookie scoop and roll into ball.

Step 8Roll cookie ball in the sugar and place on the cookie sheet.

Step 9Bake 12 minutes until the tops are cracked.

Step 10Cool on cookie sheet 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
