My Aunt Martha use to make these every year for Christmas..These will be a great addition to your holiday cookie tray..my family and neighbors love these--last year I made them using chopped fruit trail mix..this was a big hit...

Ingredients

2 c
finely chopped nuts
1/4 c
honey
1 1/2 tsp
ground cinnamon
3 Tbsp
orange juice
2 tsp
orange zest
1/2 tsp
each of ground allspice and ground nutmeg
1 c
dried apricots, finely chopped
1 c
pitted dates, finely chopped
1 c
more or less of powdered sugar can mix with cinnamon if desired

NOTE:

can use 2 cups of chopped fruit and nut trail mix;instead of apricots and dates; or any ratio you like of all of them

How to Make Fruity Sugar Plums

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine honey,orange juice, orange zest, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg in a large bowl. Add the nuts, apricots,dates and spices, mix well to combine.
  • 2Using a small scoop or spoon, form mixture in 1/2 to 1 inch balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar. Store in airtight container. Look great on cookie tray...
