I love these cookies. They have been a favorite of my family for years. The cookies are very flaky and fragile and don't travel well but they never get too far from the kitchen anyways.

Ingredients
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup margerine
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 - eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 1/2 cups white flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
How To Make flaky sugar cookies

Step 1Beat together first 7 ingredients until fluffy.

Step 2Slowly add flour, soda salt and cream of tartar until dough is soft and pliant.

Step 3Shape into 1/2 inch balls.

Step 4Press down with base of a glass dipped in sugar.

Step 5Bake at 350 degrees 8-10 minutes. Remove promptly from cookie sheet onto racks to cool.
