butter flavor shortening
1 1/2 tsp
ground cinnamon
1/2 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp
nutmeg
1/2 c
molasses
1/2 c
boiling water
1
egg
1 1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/4 tsp
salt
2 1/2 c
all purpose flour

How to Make CRY BABY COOKIES

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a large bowl, thoroughly combine the shortening and sugar. Add molasses, egg, salt, and spices; beat well until blended.
  • 2In a small bowl, stir together the boiling water and soda and add to the first mixture.
  • 3Stir in the flour and mix well. Drop from spoon onto a greased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 10-15 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
