What's better than butter, sugar, cream cheese and almond? Nothing! These cookies are soft and delicious. They melt in your mouth. They are great plain with colored sugar melted on top while they bake but they are even better with frosting. Bake some up and enjoy decorating them with your kids or grand kids.

Recipe is from my family.

5 dozen

3 oz
cream cheese, softened
1 c
granulated sugar
1 c
softened butter
2 1/4 c
all-purpose flour
egg yolk (reserve white)
1/2 tsp
1/2 tsp
almond extract
1/2 tsp

1Pre-heat oven to 375 F. In large bowl combine sugars, butter, cream cheese, salt, extracts and egg yolk; blend well. Stir in flour until well blended.
2Chill dough for 2 hours. On lightly floured surface, roll out dough, one-third at a time to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into desired shaped with lightly floured cookie cutter.
3Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Leave cookie plain, or brush with lightly beaten egg white and sprinkle with colored sugar.
4Bake for 7-10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely on wire racks. Enjoy!

Leave plain, bake with colored sugar or frost. ***Sugar Cookie Frosting recipe also posted on JAP***
