Sugar cookies, seems that we have them in every side of the family. I love these, but also Sandy's.

Ingredients For cracked sugar cookies, grandma w

  • 1 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 lg
    egg yolks, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c
    flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    cream of tartar

How To Make cracked sugar cookies, grandma w

  • 1
    Oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets. Cream sugar and butter, beat in yolks and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and cream of tartar and fold into sugar mixture. Form into walnut sized balls. Put 2 inches apart on cookie sheets but do not flatten. Bake 11 min until tops are cracked and just starting to turn color. Cool on wire racks.
