It was a hot summer day and my kids ice cream cones were melting faster than they could lick them... When suddenly I got inspired to recreate their favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream in the form of a cookie! They became a family favorite, right after we devoured the first batch, fresh from the oven. Now, I can even take my kids favorite ice cream on a picnic or send it as a lunchbox treat. How cool is that?

Ingredients

  • 1 package vanilla or white chocolate chips
  • 1 stick butter, unsalted
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 - small egg
  • 1 1/4 cups chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream (softened)
  • 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips

How To Make cookie dough ice cream cookie

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    In a pot, on low heat (not double boiler) melt together white chocolate chips, butter and 1/2 of the cookie dough ice cream.
  • Step 3
    When melted, remove from fire and add flour, salt, cream of tartar and egg. Mix together quickly and until well blended.
  • Step 4
    Let stand for 5 minutes before stirring in the remaining softened cookie dough ice cream and stirring well.
  • Step 5
    Using a cookie scoop, drop batter onto un-greased cookie sheet and press one single milk chocolate chip deeply into center, covering completely.
  • Step 6
    Place in 350 degree oven and bake for 8-10 minutes. Larger cookies may take slightly longer.
  • Step 7
    Gently press one single milk chocolate chip on top of each cookie while still warm and serve.
