This is a very simple, yet tasty cookie that Mom made...and yes, the 1 pound of brown sugar is not a typo!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 pound brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips

How To Make congo bar cookies, mom's

  • Step 1
    Mix together flour, powder and salt. Melt butter and brown sugar then add eggs one at a time and add to dry ingredients. Add nuts and chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes in greased pan. Cut when cool.
