This is a very simple, yet tasty cookie that Mom made...and yes, the 1 pound of brown sugar is not a typo!

  • 2 1/2 c
    flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    butter
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 lb
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts
  • 12 oz
    chocolate chips

How to Make Congo Bar Cookies, Mom's

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix together flour, powder and salt. Melt butter and brown sugar then add eggs one at a time and add to dry ingredients. Add nuts and chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes in greased pan. Cut when cool.
