christmas cut-out cookies
Been using this recipe for my Christmas cookies for many, many years ! It is the easiest dough to work with and the taste is the best of all the cut-out-cookies I have ever tested. My husband , daughters and I get together every year and enjoy decorating these cookies.

Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) of butter
- 1 1/2 cups sifted confectioners sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
How To Make christmas cut-out cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 400Df Cream butter thoroughly. Add sugar gradually and continue beating until mixture is light and fluffly. Beat in egg and vanilla. sift together dry ingredients. Gradually add to cream mixture and mix to thoroughly blended. Roll dough to 1/8" on floured surface use cookie cutter to desired shapes. Bake 6-8 Minutes ~ yields about 6 dozen (depending on size of the cut-outs you use)

Step 2Note: I like to put the dough in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes so it is easier to roll out. Use colored conf. sugar and sprinkles or jimmies to decorate.
