Another recipe from my great grandmother. So rich and chewy! They always remind me of the Little Debbie Fudge Rounds but just the cookie part.

prep time 1 Hr 20 Min
cook time 10 Min
method Bake
yield 4 dozen

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 sticks butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup hershey baking cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips, mini works great

How To Make chocolate drop cookies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Step 2
Using a mixer, beat butter until creamed. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  • Step 3
Add eggs and vanilla and beat until well combined and fluffy.
  • Step 4
In a seperate bowl, sift together flour, hershey cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture and beat until fully incorporated, scrapping sides and bottom if needed.
  • Step 5
By hand, stir in chocolate chips, stirring well.
  • Step 6
Scoop onto parchment lined baking sheets, pr very greased, evenly spaced as theu will spread so dont over crowd. I use medium size cookie scoop.
  • Step 7
Bake for 8-10 minutes. Allow to sit on baking sheets for at least 2 minutes before removing to cooling racks. These puff up during baking but flatten as they cool.
  • Step 8
Store in a container with a tight lid. I am not sure how long they will last because they always get eaten in 2 days.
