chocolate drop cookies
Another recipe from my great grandmother. So rich and chewy! They always remind me of the Little Debbie Fudge Rounds but just the cookie part.

- 2 1/2 sticks butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup hershey baking cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips, mini works great
How To Make chocolate drop cookies
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350°F.
-
Step 2Using a mixer, beat butter until creamed. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
-
Step 3Add eggs and vanilla and beat until well combined and fluffy.
-
Step 4In a seperate bowl, sift together flour, hershey cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture and beat until fully incorporated, scrapping sides and bottom if needed.
-
Step 5By hand, stir in chocolate chips, stirring well.
-
Step 6Scoop onto parchment lined baking sheets, pr very greased, evenly spaced as theu will spread so dont over crowd. I use medium size cookie scoop.
-
Step 7Bake for 8-10 minutes. Allow to sit on baking sheets for at least 2 minutes before removing to cooling racks. These puff up during baking but flatten as they cool.
-
Step 8Store in a container with a tight lid. I am not sure how long they will last because they always get eaten in 2 days.
