  • 1 pkg
    chocolate cake mix
  • 3
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

  • 2/3 c
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp
  • 1 c
    2% milk
  • 1/2 c
    chocolate chips
  • 2/3 c
  • 1/3 c
    butter or margerine
  • 3/4 tsp
    vanilla extract

  • 1 c
    mini chocolate chips

How to Make Chocolate Dream Whoopie Pies


  1. COOKIES: In large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, oil & vanilla. Beat on low speed for 3 seconds, beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  2. Drop by 2 tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes (until edges are set). Cool.
  3. FILLING: Combine sugar, flour and salt in small saucepan. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil, stirring for 1-2 minutes or until thickened. Stir in chocolate chips until melted. Cool.
  4. In a large bowl, beat shortening and butter until fluffy. Beat in chocolate mixture and vanilla.
  5. "Sandwich" filling between 2 cooled cookies. Roll in mini chips. Store in refridgerator.
