COOKIE

1 pkg
chocolate cake mix
3
eggs
1/2 c
vegetable oil
1 tsp
vanilla extract

FILLING

2/3 c
sugar
2 Tbsp
all purpose flour
1/8 tsp
salt
1 c
2% milk
1/2 c
chocolate chips
2/3 c
shortening
1/3 c
butter or margerine
3/4 tsp
vanilla extract

GARNISH

1 c
mini chocolate chips

How to Make Chocolate Dream Whoopie Pies

Step-by-Step

  • 1COOKIES: In large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, oil & vanilla. Beat on low speed for 3 seconds, beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  • 2Drop by 2 tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes (until edges are set). Cool.
  • 3FILLING: Combine sugar, flour and salt in small saucepan. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil, stirring for 1-2 minutes or until thickened. Stir in chocolate chips until melted. Cool.
  • 4In a large bowl, beat shortening and butter until fluffy. Beat in chocolate mixture and vanilla.
  • 5"Sandwich" filling between 2 cooled cookies. Roll in mini chips. Store in refridgerator.
