chocolate crinkle cookies
This is one of the recipes my mother used while teaching fractions.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 2/3 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 - eggs
- 2 ounces unsweet chocolate, melted (or 6 tbsp cocoa + 2 tbsp veg. oil)
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- small bowl of confectioners' sugar
How To Make chocolate crinkle cookies

Step 1Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar and vanilla.

Step 2Add eggs and chocolate.

Step 3Stir together flour, baking powder and salt; add to mix alternately with milk.

Step 4Chill about 3 hours (or over night).

Step 5Form balls and roll in confectioners' sugar.

Step 6Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.

Step 7Cool slightly then remove from pan to finish cooling.
