  • 1/2 c
  • 1 2/3 c
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2
  • 2 oz
    unsweet chocolate, melted (or 6 tbsp cocoa + 2 tbsp veg. oil)
  • 2 c
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 c
  • small
    bowl of confectioners' sugar

How to Make Chocolate Crinkle Cookies


  1. Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar and vanilla.
  2. Add eggs and chocolate.
  3. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt; add to mix alternately with milk.
  4. Chill about 3 hours (or over night).
  5. Form balls and roll in confectioners' sugar.
  6. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.
  7. Cool slightly then remove from pan to finish cooling.
