I am not a huge fan of cherries but these cookies are absolutely amazing. It will make anyone fall in love with cherries!

1/2 c
confectioners' sugar
1/2 c
white and/or dark chocolate chips
1 c
maraschino cherries, chopped
1 c
butter, room temperature
2 c
all purpose flour
1/2 tsp
1/2 Tbsp
vanilla extract
8 oz
white and/or dark chocolate, chopped

How to Make Chocolate and Maraschino Cherry Shortbread Cookies


  • 1Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • 2Cream the butter and the sugar.
  • 3Mix the flour and the salt.
  • 4Mix the dry ingredients into the wet until it starts forming larger clumps.
  • 5Mix in the maraschino cherries,white chocolate and vanilla extract.
  • 6Form the dough into the shape that you want, wrap it in plastic and let it chill in the fridge for at least an hour.
  • 7Cut into 1/4 inch thick slices and place them on a parchment lined baking pan with one inch space betweet them.
  • 8Bake in oven until they just start to turn lightly golden brown on top. (10-15 minutes)
  • 9Let cool completely.
  • 10Melt the chocolate in small pot.
  • 11Drizzle chocolate over the cookies and place on a sheet of parchment paper and let cool until the chocolate sets.
