chocolate and maraschino cherry shortbread cookies
I am not a huge fan of cherries but these cookies are absolutely amazing. It will make anyone fall in love with cherries!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 cup white and/or dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup maraschino cherries, chopped
- 1 cup butter, room temperature
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces white and/or dark chocolate, chopped
How To Make chocolate and maraschino cherry shortbread cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Step 2Cream the butter and the sugar.

Step 3Mix the flour and the salt.

Step 4Mix the dry ingredients into the wet until it starts forming larger clumps.

Step 5Mix in the maraschino cherries,white chocolate and vanilla extract.

Step 6Form the dough into the shape that you want, wrap it in plastic and let it chill in the fridge for at least an hour.

Step 7Cut into 1/4 inch thick slices and place them on a parchment lined baking pan with one inch space betweet them.

Step 8Bake in oven until they just start to turn lightly golden brown on top. (10-15 minutes)

Step 9Let cool completely.

Step 10Melt the chocolate in small pot.

Step 11Drizzle chocolate over the cookies and place on a sheet of parchment paper and let cool until the chocolate sets.
