chewy brownie cookies

I dont remember where I got this recipe, but oh, is it good! Very easy too! I promised to post this recipe. I will take photos when I make them. These cookies taste like the edges of brownies, crisp around the rims, and tender chewy in the middles! Nice addition to Holiday cookie trays! Tis the season to bake up some yummies! :)

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup crisco shortening. (not butter flavor)
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips ( 12 ounce package)

How To Make chewy brownie cookies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Combine the Crisco shortening, brown sugar,water and vanilla. Beat until well blended. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
  • Step 3
    Combine the flour,cocoa and baking soda mixing them together just until blended.
  • Step 4
    Combine the Crisco,brown sugar mixture and the flour cocoa mixture together. Add the chocolate chips.
  • Step 5
    Drop by teaspoon full, onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Bake one sheet at a time @ 375 degrees for 11 minutes. Check them, as you do not want to over bake these cookies!
  • Step 6
    Cool on sheet for 5 minutes, then cool completely on wire racks.
