Butter Balls

Stormy Stewart

My mother, Eric, and my youngest daughter's father loved these more than any other cookie going. When I dug this recipe out and used it yesterday I was unaware that Eric's grandmother used to make some cookies like these but without the almond extract. It is the almond that makes these.

They remind me of the cookies that show up once a year near Christmas time only those are hard and dry.

How to Make Butter Balls

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Mix everything but the powdered sugar together in a bowl and roll into balls. I did them about 1 1/2 inches.

Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 17-20 minutes until they just start to turn golden.

Take from oven and put on a dish. Then take one at a time and roll in powdered sugar. once cool roll again.
