How To Make applesauce spice cookies
-
Step 1Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg; set aside.
-
Step 2In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat butter and gradually add the sugars. Beat until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat until blended, this would be the time to add vanilla or what ever extract you like.

Step 3On low speed, add applesauce and sifted dry ingredients.

Step 4Beat just until all ingredients are blended together, using a rubber spatula to scrape down sides of bowl.
-
Step 5Stir in the oats, raisins, nuts, and chocolate chips.
-
Step 6Drop dough by level tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets, about 1 inch apart.
-
Step 7Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned. Remove immediately from cookie sheets to racks to cool completely. Makes 5 dozen.
