Ingredients

  • BARS:
  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 - egg
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup cinnamon chips
  • GLAZE:
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1-2 tablespoon water

How To Make apple butter bars with cinnamon glaze

  • Step 1
    For Bars: In a large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until combined. Add the apple butter and egg; mix well.
  • Step 2
    In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.
  • Step 3
    Add the flour mixture into the brown sugar mixture gradually, mixing until completely combined. Fold in the cinnamon chips.
  • Step 4
    Place mixture into a greased or sprayed 8-inch baking dish. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until knife comes out clean.
  • Step 5
    For Glaze: Mix the butter, powdered sugar and cinnamon. Add a tablespoon of water, one at a time, until desired glaze consistency is reached. Drizzle over cooked bars.
  • Step 6
    Serve warm.
