apple and plum bars

I love breakfast bars so i made a twist on flavors. Just Yummo to me..

Ingredients

  • 3 medium apples, golden delicious, sliced
  • 6 medium plums, seeded and chopped
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • CRUST/TOPPING
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 cups quick cooking rolled oats

How To Make apple and plum bars

  • Step 1
    Filling: In a med saucepan, combine apples, plums, sugar, water, corn starch, and salt.cook qt med heat for 10 minutes or until thickened. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl, sift flour, baking soda, baking powder. Cut in butter with pastry cutter. Stir in brown sugar and rolled oats. Press half of mixture into greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Pour fruit mixture on top; top with remaining flour mixture.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, until top is slightly browned. Cool before cutting into bars.
