Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons anise extract or 1 teas. anise seeds
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract -not lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cream or tartar

How To Make anise snaps

  • Step 1
    Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, anise,lemon and vanilla extract, and honey beat well. Combine flour, soda and cream of tartar and blend into mixture. Chill dough about 30 minutes for easy handling. Shape into balls; using rounded teaspoonful for each. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 350^ oven for 8-10 minutes or until just golden brown.
