My Grandma made these every Christmas. These are the best cookies ever. I can eat them any time of the year, it doesn't have to be Christmas.

  • 2 stick
    butter, room temperature
  • 2 c
    sifted flour
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 3/4 c
    confectioners' sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp
    almond extract

How to Make Adelaide's Cocoons


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream butter and 1/4 cup of confectioner's sugar.
  3. Add vanilla, almond extract, and water.
  4. Blend in flour.
  5. Add chopped pecans.
  6. Form into small finger rolls by rolling in flour.
  7. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. These will not brown like a typical cookie.
  8. While hot, roll in remaining confectioner's sugar.
