butter
1 c
brown sugar
1/2 c
white sugar

egg
1 tsp
vanilla
1 tsp
cinnamon
1/2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
baking soda
2 pkg
dates, chopped
3 c
oats, quick cooking
1 1/2 c
flour
1 c
walnuts, chopped

ICING

8 oz
white almond bark
1 Tbsp
shortening

How to Make A Date With Oatmeal Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2Cream butter and sugars.
  • 3Add eggs and vanilla - mix until smooth.
  • 4In separate bowl mix together salt, baking soda, cinnamon and flour. Add to wet mixture 1/2 cup at a time.
  • 5Mix in dates and walnuts.
  • 6Add Oatmeal 1 cup at a time. Mix well.
  • 7Shape dough into golfball sized cookies and flatten. Bake on parchment lined cookie sheet for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • 8Remove cookies and place on parchment lined tray to cool.
  • 9In double boiler combine white almond bark and 1 tablespoon shortening. Melt until smooth.
  • 10Drizzle by spoon over cookies.
