peanut butter brownie bars

I tasted these brownies at a church potluck and had to have the recipe. Too good not to share.

Ingredients
- 1 package fudge brownie mix, 9x13 size
- 12 - peanut butter cups, chopped
- 1/2 cup salted peanuts, chopped
- 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/4 cups creamy peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups crisp rice cereal
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
How To Make peanut butter brownie bars

Step 1Prepare brownie batter according to pkg directions. Spread into greased 13 x 9 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 min or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out with moist crumbs.

Step 2Sprinkle with peanut butter cups and peanuts. Bake 4-6 minutes longer or until chocolate is melted. Cool on a wire rack.

Step 3Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, butter and salt. Cook and stir until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from the heat; stir in sereal and vanilla. Carefully spread over brownies. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting. Yield: 3 dozen.
