Ingredients
- 1 pound confectioners' sugar
- 3 tablespoons margarine, softened
- 3 teaspoons peppermint extract , more or less to your liking
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup evaporated milk
- 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons shortening
How To Make pam's peppermint patties

Step 1Combine the confectioners sugar, butter, and flavorings in a bowl and mix well. Add the evaporated milk and mix until blended

Step 2Shape the mixture into one inch balls. Arrange the balls on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Chill for 20 minutes. Flatten balls with the bottom of a glass so they resemble patties. Chill for 30 minutes and then freeze for 5 minutes.

Step 3Combine the chocolate chips and shortening in a double boiler. Heat over simmering water until blended, stirring frequently. Dip the patties into the chocolate mixture and arrange on a sheet of waxed paper. Let stand until firm.
