microwave s'mores
I love s'mores with the marshmallows toasted over a campfire, but I needed to make them for a classroom treat. I'm posting this recipe to remind myself how I did it. They turned out REALLY well, but I didn't need FIVE boxes of graham crackers for 52 students! One and one-half boxes was more than enough. I also used about one and one-half bags of small Hershey bars and less than one bag of marshmallows. Delicious! =^..^=

How To Make microwave s'mores
-
Step 1Set out graham crackers, chocolate bars, and marshmallows.
-
Step 2Place the chocolate side-by-side on top of 1 square of graham cracker on a microwave-safe plate or napkin.
-
Step 3Place a large marshmallow on top of the chocolate.
-
Step 4Put the treat into the microwave and set timer for 15 seconds. NOTE: my new microwave only takes 10 seconds!
-
Step 5Watch closely. When the marshmallow puffs up, the s'more is done. (If the marshmallow falls sideways, you need to quickly place it back in the center of the graham cracker using the top cracker piece.)
-
Step 6Put the top cracker on top of the puffed marshmallow and press slightly.
-
Step 7Another great idea: Seasonal S'Mores Kits using Peeps Marshmallow Shapes. Here are ones that I gave my students for Halloween. =^..^=
