chocolate quick bread for bread maker

This is an easy quick bread for your bread maker machine. Just set it and forget it. The original recipe that came with my bread maker only called for chocolate chips. There is no oil or butter in this recipe. That keeps the fat down. I did make some changes to the recipe by adding cocoa powder to it. I also made some other adjustments in the measurements. It is an easy moist chocolate loaf to make. My family enjoys this cake. I have made this recipe four times in the last six weeks . Great with a cup of coffee or tea.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tb low-fat milk any type ( i used almond milk)
  • 1/2 cup low fat sour cream
  • 2 eggs room temp
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup plus 2 tb all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup nuts optional

How To Make chocolate quick bread for bread maker

  • Step 1
    Gather ingredients. Coat bread pan with oil spray
  • Step 2
    Add all ingredients to pan in order.
  • Step 3
    Select quick bread or cake on bread maker.
  • Step 4
    Press start button.
  • Step 5
    While bread maker is mixing. Use spatula to scrape the sides to incorporate ingredients.
  • Step 6
    When ingredients look well incorporated. Close the cover. Let it cycle through until baked.
  • Step 7
    Remove pan from bread maker. Let cool for 10-15 before removing cake.
  • Step 8
    Turn cake onto a rack to cool. Cut into slices to serve.
