Chocolate and peanut butter are favorites in our house. I always add a little more peanut butter for the topping.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup crunchy natural peanut butter
  • 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/3 cup chopped, roasted peanuts
  • TOPPING:
  • 2 tablespoons crunchy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons chopped, roasted peanuts
  • 2 tablespoons semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips

How To Make fudgy chocolate peanut butter brownies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9" square baking pan and set aside. In a small saucepan, melt the butter, peanut butter and chopped chocolate over low heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth and well combined. Remove from heat.
  • Step 2
    Whisk together sugar and eggs in bowl. Add melted chocolate mixture stirring to combine.
  • Step 3
    In another bowl sift together the cocoa, flour and baking powder and then stir into the egg mixture, folding gently until combined. Stir in the chopped peanuts. Scrape batter into prepared pan.
  • Step 4
    For the topping, drag the 2 Tbsp of peanut butter through the surface of the batter in small swirls with tip of knife. Sprinkle with the 2 Tbsp of peanuts and chocolate chips. Bake 30 minutes at 325. Allow to cool completely before cutting.
