- 1/2 pound butter, unsalted
- 1/2 pound semi-sweet or 60% chocolate (chopped or chips)
- 4 - eggs
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (1/2 tsp if extract is less than 10% alcohol)
- 2 tablespoons milk

Step 1Preheat oven to 325°F and grease baking pan

Step 2Melt together butter and chocolate

Step 3Whisk eggs until homogeneous, then whisk in brown sugar and 2/3 cup granulated sugar; add to chocolate mixture

Step 4Sift together remaining dry ingredients and whisk into wet batter; add vanilla and milk

Step 5Bake for 30-40 minutes or until toothpick tests clean
