I received this recipe at my bridal shower in 1989

Ingredients

  • 1 box graham crackers
  • 2 boxes instant french vanilla pudding
  • 9 ounces cool whip or 2 packets of dream whip
  • 2 ounces liquid bitter chocolate
  • 2 teaspoons white karo syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (do not sift)
  • 3 tablespoons milk

How To Make chocolate eclair dessert

  • Step 1
    Line pan with whole graham crackers. Mix pudding, using only 3 1/2 cups of milk. Fold in whipped topping. Pour 1/2 of the pudding over graham crackers. Add 2nd layer of crackers and rest of pudding. Add a 3rd layer of crackers.
  • Step 2
    Top with special frosting: Combine chocolate, karo syrup, vanilla, margarine, powdered sugar and milk with a hand mixer. Spread over the top of graham crackers and refrigerate overnight.
