Chocolate Cream Frosting

Another one of my Grandma's delicious frostings.

This frosting is best used for a white or chocolate layered cake.

Add to Grocery List

  • 3
    chocolate, unsweetened squares (3oz.)
  • 1/2 c
    whipping cream
  • 1
    egg , slightly beaten
  • 3 1/2 c
    confectioners' sugar (more if needed)
  • 1 tsp
    almond or vanilla flavoring

How to Make Chocolate Cream Frosting


  1. Chop the chocolate squares into small pieces.
  2. Melt the chocolate and cream in a medium sauce pan on the stove on medium heat or in a double broiler .
  3. Stir constantly until nice and smooth.
  4. Add slightly beaten egg and cook until thick and smooth.
  5. Remove from stove and pour into a mixing bowl , add the sugar gradually , beating until smooth.
  6. Add the flavoring last of all.
  7. Frost your favorite cake or cupcakes and enjoy.
